Accessibility Plan
Community Living Lennox & Addington (CLLA) is committed to providing accessible, quality services to all individuals with disabilities. The agency will comply with the requirements of the Ontarians with Disabilities Act, with the Ontario Human Rights code, and other legislative requirements.
Accessibility Policy
CLLA has an accessibility policy. Further CLLA describes measures of accessibility in our Goal Statement, Mission Statement, Philosophy & Guiding Principles policy. CLLA reviews policies annually and communicates changes to staff, volunteers, and individuals.
Service Standards for Persons With Disabilities
CLLA is dedicated to supporting people with a developmental disability and to delivering accessible, quality services to individuals supported, to visitors, and to members of the public. CLLA will identify and address accessibility issues and work to remove barriers to service.
Assistive Devices
CLLA will ensure staff are trained and familiar with various assistive devices that may be used by individuals with disabilities while they are accessing our services.
Service Animals
CLLA welcomes those with disabilities and their service animals. Service animals are permitted at CLLA program locations. A service animal is an animal that is individually trained by a recognized school for service as a guide animal to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of the person with a disability. CLLA will adapt guidelines regarding service animals for individuals using service animal services.
Temporary Disruption of Service
In the event of a planned or unexpected disruption to services or facilities for people with disabilities, CLLA will provide notification. Notification will be posted on the main entrance of the facility where service is disrupted. A public service announcement will be posted on our phone for disruptions greater than one day.
Communication
CLLA communicates with individuals in a manner that takes into account a person’s disability.
